This lovely, hand-carved alabaster jar in white or white with very slight color measures 4.25" high with 1/4oz Spikenard Anointing Oil. The jar will hold approximately 1/8 oz of oil.

However, lid sits in the neck and does not seal. Also, since alabaster is porous, we suggest pouring just a small amount of oil into the cavity as the stone will absorb the oil over time. Variations in texture and color, due to the essence of natural stone.

In bible times they would put burlap and then leather and then sit the lid in and then wrap with twine and then seal with hot wax.

It is wrapped in bubble wrap and packaged in white gift box.

Spikenard, a rare and costly fragrant oil, was used by Mary of Bethany to anoint the head and feet of the Messiah two days before His death, as recorded in John 12:3: “Then Mary took a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment.” It speaks of the Bride’s extravagant adoration of and intimacy with the Bridegroom, in total abandonment, without regard to cost. We at ABBA call Spikenard "The Fragrance of the Bride", for it symbolizes the Bride who has made herself ready.

Song of Sol 1:12 "While the king sits at his table, my spikenard sends forth its fragrance."
